Volür is a 10-driver hybrid UIEM that builds upon the legacy of Nio. It features two new custom 9mm dynamic drivers in a True Isobaric configuration, delivering unprecedented low-frequency capability. The tia™ high-driver, known for its high-frequency performance, is enhanced by a new tia waveguide, offering greater tuning control. The six low-mid and single high-mid balanced armature drivers have been re-engineered to maximize space and integrate 3D printed acoustic tuning features. The isobaric low-drivers' damping decreases low-frequency smear, resulting in a darker background between notes and beats, while the tia waveguide improves high-frequency response, increasing clarity and stereo imaging.
Volür's outer shell remains the same size, with significant structural changes occurring internally. The faceplate now features a sleeker chamfer, seamlessly blending with the matte black-finished aluminum shell, and includes a purple abalone chip as a homage to Nio. The isobaric driver configuration, featuring two drivers connected by an acoustically inert coupling chamber, results in better damping, lower distortion, and extended low-frequency response. The new 9mm dynamic driver with an upgraded n54 magnet and a high-precision textile mesh acoustic low-pass filter further shapes the sound.
Volür also incorporates patented technologies, including Tubeless In-Ear Audio, Air Pressure Exchange, and Linear Impedance Design. These technologies aim to reduce unwanted resonance and distortion, release air pressure in a sealed ear canal, and correct the non-linear electrical resistance of the multiple driver-sets, respectively, resulting in a transparent and lifelike sound signature, alleviating listener fatigue, and ensuring a consistent, reliable sound across different devices.
