The HiFiMan Edition XS expands on its predecessor’s achievements with several essential upgrades. The NEO supernano diaphragm is 75% thinner than the original version, resulting in lightning-fast response for detailed sonic output without discernable distortion.
The Edition XS headphones showcase some of the best things about planar magnetic headphones: Punchy, textured bass; lots of detail; an airy soundstage. The bass response is assertive and funky with quite equal sub-bass and mid-bass levels. The midrange has a slight warmth with a bright treble, lending emotion to vocals and a nice tonality to instruments. Weighing less than a pound at 405g the Edition XS headphones are lightweight, sporting HiFiMan's latest headphone design with a generously padded headband that's both lighter and more comfortable than the HiFiMan Edition X. The large ear cups have the signature HiFiMan ovoid shape and swivel inward and outward, as well as the window shade grilles on the outside of the ear cups.
